Angerona

ANGERONA: Roman myth name of a goddess who relieved men from pain and sorrow. She was also a protectress of Rome and keeper of its sacred name which could not be pronounced lest it be revealed to enemies. In art, she has been depicted with a bandage over her mouth and a finger pressed to her lips, demanding silence. Her festival is called Divalia or Angeronalia and is celebrated on December 21st.
